HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) - A man was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after an approximately three hour barricade situation in Hopkinsville.

Officers responded to a home in the 700 block of Buckley Avenue just after 1 a.m. to a man experiencing a mental health crisis.

Hopkinsville Police said the man made threats towards himself and officers before barricading himself inside the home. The Hopkinsville SWAT Team and crisis negotiators were called in to resolve the situation and residents who lived in the area of Buckley Avenue were asked to avoid the area.
