TOWN OF CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- An off-ramp along Interstate 81 south will permanently close in Cicero as part of a new traffic pattern for the I-81 Viaduct Project.
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising drivers that the I-81 southbound off-ramp to Exit 29S (Interstate 481 South/DeWitt) in the Town of Cicero will permanently close around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The closure will take place to facilitate a new traffic pattern as part of the I-81 Viaduct Project.
Around noon on Tuesday, Nov. 4, drivers traveling on I-81 southbound to I-481 should follow the overhead signs directing traffic to merge onto I-481 southbound using the left two lanes, just north of the South Bay Road bridge.
In the future, this traffic pattern will become the new I-81 southbound mainl
