NEW YORK (WABC) -- City residents are heading to the polls to decide the next mayor of New York City.

Eyewitness News was outside the East Side location where former Governor Andrew Cuomo cast his ballot alongside his two daughters.

Will a late-night election eve endorsement from President Donald Trump have an impact?

Cuomo is shrugging it off.

President Trump wrote on Truth Social in part, "Whether you personally like Andrew Cuomo or not, you really have no choice. You must vote for him, and hope he does a fantastic job. He is capable of it, Mamdani is not!"

Cuomo, Tuesday morning in an interview, broke down what he believes are Trump's sentiments.
