Bhubaneswar: A Revenue Inspector (RI) was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday while allegedly taking Rs 60,000 bribe from a man to process his application in mutation cases of six parental plots.
The accused, identified as Jiban Krishna Parida, is posted as RI at Bantalsing under Pipili Tehsil of Puri district. ADVERTISEMENT
Vigilance said in a statement that Parida had initially demanded a bribe of Rs 90,000 @ 15,000 for each mutation case and refused to process the applications without payment of bribe. After several requests made by the complainant, the RI reduced the bribe amount to Rs 60,000.
