MECOSTA COUNTY, MI – The condition of a teen who was accidentally shot in the neck is improving, sheriff’s deputies said.
The 16-year-old, whose name has not been released, was critically injured Saturday, Nov. 1, in the shooting at a residence near Harding Road and 55 th Avenue in Mecosta County’s Sheridan Township.
She is in stable condition, police said.
“According to medical staff, she is recovering better than expected and is making progressive improvements,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Police released few details about the incident but said it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
