Energy bills for millions of households will increase this winter due to the latest Ofgem price cap , but while many will be able to take advantage of leaving the home during the day and enjoying the warm working space paid for by their employer for a solid eight hours, remote workers could be left out of pocket.

The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show 41 per cent of UK workers, or about 23.2 million people, work from home at least some of the time, with 13 per cent working from home exclusively and 28 per cent working a hybrid model.

However, as the daylight hours get shorter and the temperatures start to drop, it’s worthwhile being aware of simple solutions to help home workers save around £300 each year.
