Suryakumar Yadav has sent a heartfelt message to one of his idols, AB de Villiers, pleading for guidance to help revive his fading ODI career and keep his World Cup dreams alive.
Despite being hailed as India’s “Mr. 360°", Suryakumar’s magic in the 50-over format has yet to click.
Speaking to journalist Vimal Kumar on YouTube, the Indian T20I captain admitted that he has struggled to balance his white-ball game across formats and hopes the great Protean de Villiers can show him the way.
“If I meet him soon, I would like to ask him how he managed to balance his T20I and ODI games," Suryakumar said. “I haven’t been able to do so. I thought ODIs should be played like T20Is. I want to ask him what he did to be successful in both formats."
