NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – New Jersey officials are trying to ease residents’ worries after several bomb threats were reportedly emailed to voting sites around the state.
“We are aware of threats made to several polling locations in New Jersey. Law enforcement has determined that there are no credible threats at this time,” Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way said in a statement sent to PIX11 News.
The threats were reported in these counties: • Bergen County • Essex County • Mercer County • Middlesex County • Monmouth County • Ocean County • Passaic County
Newark police said it was investigating phishing emails “regarding fake claims of bomb threats.” A threat was made to a Gotthard Street voting location, but it was determined to be unfounded, according to Newark Public Safety Dire
