Drivers, be on the alert. It’s that time of year again for traffic accidents involving deer.
Deer running into the path of vehicles have led to recent crashes, with two of them in Mercer County, according to public reports released by the Pennsylvania State Police.
A crash was reported on Oct. 27, at 1:14 p.m. on Leesburg Station Road at the New Castle Mercer Road intersection in Wilmington Township. The driver of the vehicle involved was not injured.
In a separate incident on Interstate 79, a northbound vehicle struck a deer that ran across the roadway near the 108-mile marker, disabling the car. The driver and a passenger were not injured in the crash.
