CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine released a statement Tuesday following the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

“Fran and I were saddened to learn this morning of the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney,” said DeWine. “I first got to know him when we were members of Congress together and he was in the House Republican leadership. He was thoughtful, steady, and an advocate for his beloved Wyoming.”

Cheney was 84 and according to a family statement, he died Monday night of complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.
