MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) - Mandan Public School Superintendent Dr. Mike Bitz has announced his retirement at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.

Over the course of his 38-year career in education, Dr. Bitz has served in six North Dakota districts: Mandan, Des-Lacs-Burlington, Emerado, Milnor, North Sargent and Hillsboro. He has served 16 years of leadership to the Mandan community.

The Mandan School Board will start the search process for the next superintendent after their board meeting on Nov. 17th.
