Thousands of WhatsApp users globally are experiencing significant issues with the popular messaging app. Reports have flooded in from various countries, including the UK, Brazil, the US, Peru, Italy, and Costa Rica, indicating widespread disruption. The problems appear to be primarily affecting WhatsApp Web, with many users unable to load their chats. According to Downdetector, a platform that tracks outages, 83 per cent of the reported issues in the UK are related to the website. This trend is mirrored globally, where 81 per cent of users have reported similar problems. Users have taken to social media to express their frustrations, with comments highlighting the severity of the outage. One user noted, "WhatsApp web 'not loading chats' is a major inconvenience for many of us who rely on it for work and communication." In response to the issues, experts have suggested several troubleshooting steps. Users are advised to restart or update the application, clear their browser cache for WhatsApp Web, or try accessing the service through a different browser. As of now, it remains unclear when WhatsApp will resolve these issues and restore full functionality to its services. The company has not yet issued a statement regarding the outage or provided an estimated time for resolution.
