PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A popular barbeque joint in downtown Providence will be closing its doors for good at the end of the month.

In a social media post Sunday night, Durk's Bar-B-Q owner Steve Durkee announced that the Aborn Street restaurant will shutter after nearly nine years in business.

"I've made the difficult decision to close Durk's Bar-B-Q — a life decision," Durkee wrote. "We will remain open through the end of November."

Durkee thanked his loyal guests for their support over the years.

"We so appreciate and feel privileged for all the years of letting us feed you," he continued.
