DETROIT — Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal has been named a finalist for the AL Cy Young Award.

Skubal, the defending AL Cy Young winner, finished the 2025 season with 2.21 ERA and 241 strikeouts over 195 innings of work.

He’s trying to become the first AL pitcher to win back-to-back Cy Young Awards since Pedro Martinez did it in 1999 & 2000.

Garrett Crochet of the Red Sox and Hunter Brown of the Astros are the other AL Cy Young Finalists.

Winners will be announced next week.
