CANTON, Ohio (WOIO) - Police say a murder suspect is behind bars after he surrendered Tuesday morning in connection to a deadly shooting.
Officers say Deiveon Newman, 19, is charged with murder, assault and tampering with evidence.
According to police, officers were called out around 10:30 a.m. Monday for a shooting inside an apartment.
They arrived to the 3900 block of Tuscarawas Street West and found the victim shot multiple times.
Sadly, police say Daryle J. Bryant, 21, died soon after being taken to Aultman Hospital.
Officers say Newman had left the apartment before they arrived. Police did not share when he will appear in court.
Officers will continue to investigate Bryant‘s murder and ask anyone with information to contact the department.
