BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Bryan police arrested a College Station man early Tuesday morning after he allegedly broke into the Lowe’s store on Freedom Boulevard.
According to police, officers responded around 1:30 a.m. and found that 44-year-old David Hester had used a rock to shatter the glass on one of the store’s entrance doors.
Hester reportedly told officers he broke into the business to make an emergency call because he was being attacked outside. However, investigators later determined there was no attack and that Hester had fabricated the story.
He was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief between $2,500 and $30,000. Jail records show Hester remains in custody with bonds set at $7,000.
