The Flying Pig Café has closed after nearly a decade in Miller Place. Owner Jack Schwartz confirmed the restaurant's closing to Newsday by phone, declining to comment further.
Schwartz opened the restaurant in 2016 with Marianne Ferrandino , who died May 13 at the age of 63, according to an obituary from Moloney Family Funeral Homes . Schwartz also owns Country Cottage Diner in Center Moriches.
The Flying Pig Café was housed in the former Sabai Thai Bistro . Its pink and black exterior is hard to miss while driving down Route 25A. On Friday afternoon, a sign on the door read "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Flying Pig Café will be closed until further notice."
