PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Pikeville Medical Center recently announced plans to fill a need in the workforce by purchasing a shopping center in Pikeville.

The hospital purchased the Town and Country Shopping Center on Town Mountain Road, with plans to renovate the building that currently houses Super Dollar and Fun Time Inflatables.

And though the purchase includes the entire shopping center, officials say the other businesses will not be displaced.

The development will be the home to the new Appalachian Valley Angel Academy, a childcare facility that will be available to hospital employees.
