New England signed second-year wideout Brenden Rice to its practice squad, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz . The move was made amid uncertainty surrounding receiver Kayshon Boutte, who suffered a hamstring injury during last Sunday’s home win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Rice isn’t an accomplished professional wideout, but you wouldn’t call him a “no-name” player.
