A pensioner and his wife allege they've been barred from their local Aldi after being accused of "abusive" behaviour towards staff, a claim the couple vehemently deny.

Anthony and Regina Taylor, aged 75 and 65 respectively, visited the Aldi store on Washington Parade in Bootle , Merseyside, on 4 October for their monthly grocery shop.

The Taylors, who have been regular customers at the branch since it opened approximately ten years ago, say they usually buy items in bulk and typically only place one of each product on the conveyor belt, informing the cashier of the total quantity they wish to purchase.

However, when asked to unload their entire trolley this time, Anthony, who suffers from osteoarthritis, declined.

"The member of staff demanded that we had to empty the trolley,"
