An Iowa man who allegedly beat four people to death with a pipe last year, then told police he did it because he wanted to make a movie, is going to trial.
Luke Truesdell, 36, of Marion is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the June 2024 deaths of two men and two women at a rural Linn County property.
Truesdell's trial is set to begin Tuesday, Nov. 4. If convicted of any of the charges, he faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.

Truesdell, the defendant, was employed at the time of the killings as a yard worker with Ely-based T&K Roofing Co. The company in a statement after the attack promised its full cooperation with authorities.
