WINCHESTER, Ky. — Relief is coming to the millions of Americans who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, but when it happens remains uncertain.
Two federal judges ruled Friday that the Trump administration must continue providing food assistance during the now-monthlong shutdown. The Trump administration then announced Monday it would partially fund the food assistance program.
But one church in Winchester has worked to provide free meals long before SNAP funding was in limbo.
“We just work hard, spend longer hours working," said Robin Reece, Ark of Mercy Church of God kitchen manager. "I mean, we do what it takes to take care of the people. We're here for two reasons: to feed them and to show them love."
