BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — The day belonged to dozens of four-legged Brooklynites as the Montague Diner’s second annual Dog Costume Contest, part of its Halloween Spooktacular event, celebrated canine creativity on the afternoon of Oct. 26.

Owners brought their dogs to participate, as well as engage in some other festive activities such as face painting, creating balloon animals and singing along with “Mr. Simon.”

The event took place in front of the diner at 148 Montague St. and marked the final Montague Open Streets of the season. Open Streets is sponsored by the Montague Business Improvement District (BID), the Brooklyn Heights Association and the New York City Department of Transportation.
