BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Garden Place in Brooklyn Heights was once again quite the scene on Halloween, as thousands packed the block for trick-or-treating on steroids, continuing a tradition dating back decades.
Police shut down both Garden Place and a block of Joralemon Street, and parents parked dozens of strollers in a buggy parking lot to free up leg room for all the little monsters, superheroes, ballerinas and devils.
Tons of candy were distributed in the good-natured feeding frenzy, a rite of passage for home owners on the brownstone block.
