FINCH — The Finch Community Centre will soon light up for a special celebration.

The Sisters for Life Christmas Gala will take place on Nov. 14, making this the 11th time the even has been held. The gala brings together community members from across SDG to raise money and bring awareness for people living with cancer.

This year, the theme of the gala is snowflake ball.

This year, Sisters for Life is hoping to surmount its goal of raising $300,000 since the event began in 2013 , as a Relay for Life team.

“Together we can make a difference,” said organizer Maureen Robertson. “We are making life better for our community members living with cancer.”

New in 2025, the Sisters for Life organizers have allowed corporate sponsorships for the event. Robertson said there
