WASHINGTON — Emmy-winning host Jon Stewart is officially remaining as host for "The Daily Show" through the next year.
Paramount announced the new Monday, extending Stewart's contract through December 2026. Stewart will continue to host Comedy Central's satirical late-night show on Mondays and serve as an executive producer.
No further details about the deal were made public.
"The renewal is a win for audiences, for Comedy Central and for all our programming partners," Ari Pearce, the head of Comedy Central, said in a statement to multiple media outlets. "We're proud to support Jon and the extraordinary news team."
The news puts to rest questions about the show's future following Paramount's merger with David Ellison's Skydance.
