The Las Vegas Raiders are trading wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Jaguars announced on Nov. 4.

In return, the Jaguars are sending a fourth- and sixth-round pick to Las Vegas.

Meyers, 28, is playing out the final year of a three-year, $33 million deal he signed in 2023 and is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2025 season. He had requested to be traded before the beginning of the season as contract extension talks with the Raiders stalled.

Jacksonville was in need of reinforcements at the wide receiver position, with rookie Travis Hunter on injured reserve with a knee injury and second-year wideout Brian Thomas dealing with ankle and shoulder injuries.

So just two days after the Jaguars defeated the Raiders on the road, Meyers is headed to Duval County.

Meyers has 352 yards on 33 catches so far this year but hasn't yet found the end zone. He led the Raiders with 49 targets prior to the trade.

Even after trading away their first-round pick in last year's draft to select Hunter with the No. 2 pick, the Jaguars entered the trade deadline holding 13 projected picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

They took advantage of that draft capital on Nov. 4 by sending two of those picks to Las Vegas. Acquiring Meyers reinforces Jacksonville's injured wide receivers corps as it makes a playoff push down the back half of the 2025 regular season.

The Jaguars did not negotiate an extension with Meyers as part of the trade, so he's still expected to hit free agency after the season ends. The former Raiders wideout had expressed his desire to be traded before the season began and doubled down on that desire when asked about it earlier in the week.

Meyers got his wish and will play out the remainder of 2025 with the Jaguars, who are currently holding the No. 7 seed in the AFC playoff picture. Jacksonville is also a game-and-a-half behind the Indianapolis Colts for the AFC South lead.
