SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month.
Amy Gillespie with Avera@Home Hospice joined Dakota News Now to tell us more about the month and the importance of education about hospice care.
“You know, hospice care is something that is out in the community, but a lot of people don’t know a lot about it. We serve about 120 patients currently in the community, not just in a facility, and so I think it’s something that’s really important that everyone knows a little bit more about, and has the opportunity to really be educated,” Gillespie.
“You know, there are a lot of myths about hospice. About what we do and what we don’t do. I think it’s an opportunity to sit down with people and really educate them about how we can help them navigate this
