It’s been a mild past few weeks in Edmonton, but it appears we’re finally in for a dose of winter weather, and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says now is the time to get those winter tires on.
Today’s sunny high of 6°C is the warmest it’s going to get until the weekend, with the rest of this workweek looking to be cold, wet, and slick when the thermometer dips below freezing.
Tomorrow, ECCC forecasts Edmonton will see rain with a high of 5°C, which will transition to a mix of rain in snow in the evening. Thursday is expected to see periods of snow through the day, while we can expect to see flurries throughout the day and night on Friday.
Expect some icy road conditions, and give yourself a bit of extra time to get where you’re going this week.
