Paints major Berger Paints on Tuesday reported a 23.53 per cent year-on-year decline in its consolidated net profit to ₹206.38 crore for the second quarter this fiscal, as its PBDIT margin fell due to subdued value growth during the period.

The company had posted a net profit of ₹269.90 crore in the second quarter of the last financial year.

Profit before Depreciation, Interest, and Taxes (PBDIT) witnessed an 18.87 per cent y-o-y decline to ₹352.25 crore from ₹434.18 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal. Accordingly, PBDIT margin fell to 12.5 per cent from 15.6 per cent in the year-ago period.

For the second quarter, EBITDA (excluding other income) fell to ₹352.3 crore (₹434.2 crore).
