GEORGETOWN, Texas — A Liberty Hill ISD student was hit by a vehicle early Tuesday morning near a school in Georgetown, according to officials.
In a letter sent to families, Bar W. Elementary School Principal Joy Hudgens said the student was hit at roughly 7:30 a.m. in a crosswalk by the campus. Hudgens later clarified that the student was crossing a driveway on campus when the collision occurred.
Hudgens said campus officials and the school nurse helped the student before emergency responders took them to a hospital.
The student's parents were notified of the incident. District officials said "the student is involved" in the district, but their name, age and grade have not been shared. As of around 3 p.m., the student is home from the hospital and resting. Their parents say they plan to
