NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Saints traded wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.

Fox 8 confirms the Saints have received a fourth and fifth round pick in the next draft as compensation.

The move reunites Shaheed with Klint Kubiak, who serves as the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator. Kubiak held the same position with the Saints last season.

Shaheed is currently on a one-year contract with the Saints and will become a free agent this offseason.

The NFL trade deadline is at 3 p.m. Central Time today. The trade might not be the only move for the 1-8 Saints.
