Tamil Nadu Police, on Tuesday, arrested the three accused of gang-raping a college student and killing her boyfriend near Coimbatore Airport.

Police said that the accused were trying to escape from the spot when the police had to shoot them in the leg in Vellakinaru, on the outskirts of Coimbatore city, reported ANI.

The accused have been identified as Guna, Karuppasamy, and Karthik, alias Kaleeswaran, who were shot in the leg during the nabbing as they tried to flee, the report added.

The incident took place on Sunday night when the victim and her friend were attacked by the trio near the Coimbatore International Airport.
