AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man is dead and a suspect is on the run after a shooting Tuesday morning in Augusta.
Richmond County deputies responded to the shooting in the 2700 block of Deen Avenue at 7:35 a.m.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says Deunte Myers, 28, of Augusta, was shot at least one time.
Myers was taken to Wellstar MCG hospital, and was pronounced dead at 8:13 a.m., the coroner said.
In the afternoon, deputies said they were looking for suspect Tyrese Artavious Wesby, 21, in connection with the shooting.
He’s 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. Authorities released a photo of him as well as a black Chevrolet Tahoe with Georgia tag SJV2970, which he’s known to drive.
He should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.
