A private hire driver has paid the price for refusing to take a customer because she had a guide dog. The woman had booked on the Uber app to take her to a train station in Manchester city centre .
Mohamed Abid Husssain arrived to pick up the woman in Grafton Street, near Manchester Royal Infirmary. The customer is registered blind, and was hoping to catch a train home to London. But Hussain told her she could not bring "her pet" into his vehicle.
She explained that her dog was a guide dog – and reported him to the Council when he refused her fare.
