PHOENIX, Arizona — Spirit Airlines plans to stop flight service in the Phoenix market starting in 2026, according to a statement sent to 12News on Tuesday.
The airline company said the reason for the discontinuation is to better align with its smaller operating fleet and to focus on its strongest performing markets.
The discontinued service will take effect Jan. 8, 2026.
According to Spirit's website, the airline offered flights out of Sky Harbor to various destinations in the U.S., including Chicago, New York City and Tampa.
Spirit said along with Phoenix, they are cutting flights to Milwaukee (MKE), Rochester (ROC) and St. Louis (STL). The airline is also ending its seasonal service to Bucaramanga, Colombia (BGA), effective Jan. 13, 2026.
