Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– The SC Attorney General’s Office announced the arrest of Adam Kelton, 25, of Gaston.

Investigators say Kelton was in possession of artificial intelligence-generated child sexual abuse material.

Attorney General Alan Wilson says Kelton is one of the first people charged under a new state statute making AI generated child pornography a felony.

Officials say Kelton is charged with two counts of possession of a visual depiction or representation of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, activity, or nudity

If convicted he faces up to 20 years in prison
