LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- With food insecurity rising across the Las Vegas valley and uncertainty surrounding SNAP benefits, one local organization is stepping in to ensure pets do not become the next victims of financial hardship.
The Animal Foundation is launching an emergency pop-up pet food pantry next week, aimed at helping families who are struggling to afford food for their animals and keeping pets out of already overcrowded shelters.
The one-day event will take place on Monday, Nov. 10, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Animal Foundation Community Center, 655 North Mojave Road.
Pet food will be available first-come, first-served and is limited to four pets per household.
