A Brantford-area man charged in Sarnia with child luring following a months-long investigation got $10,000 bail Monday after spending little more than two weeks in custody.

But Ritesh Kumar, 29, from Caledonia has several restrictions including a ban on talking to the 14-year-old complainant or anyone else younger than 16 and on coming back to Lambton County unless he’s going to court.

Sarnia police announced Oct. 20 they made an arrest and laid charges in a child luring and sexual assault investigation that began in May, after a 14-year-old girl started communicating with a man on Snapchat who went by the name Rishu and used the handles B_RISHU01 and barrit999.

The girl, whose identity is protected by a permanent publication ban, disclosed her age while the man said
