The Indianapolis Colts were in the market for a cornerback, and got one of the NFL’s best ahead of the 4 p.m. trade deadline .

The New York Jets traded Sauce Gardner to the Colts in exchange for two first-round picks, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported .

The two picks, as reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero , are 2026 and 2027 first-rounders. The Jets will also send wide receiver AD Mitchell to Indianapolis.

The Jets signed Gardner to a four-year, $120 million extension in the offseason. Now, after a 1-7 start, he gets a fresh start with a 7-2 Colts team that sits atop the AFC South standings.

Gardner quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks. The 25-year-old made the Pro Bowl and was an All-Pro First Team selection in each of his first two season
