SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Raclin Murphy Encore Center addition to the Morris Performing Arts Center is moving toward completion with a projected opening in late January 2026, officials said during Tuesday’s Civic Center Board of Managers meeting.

The $9 million renovation of the existing structure is complete, and work is now focused on new developments to open up the space.

“People will notice a very high-ceilinged second story where there’s going to be a dramatic light fixture,” said Patrick Sherman, director of project management for Public Works. “There’s also going to be a lounge area where they’ll be able to do additional programming. Some of the really neat items in the building will be the new Equity in the Arts Center, where Venues Parks and Arts will be doing additional art
