Two suspects identified, charged in Bertrand Township road rage shooting

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Ryland Mayfield, a 19-year-old man of Mishawaka, took a plea agreement for two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder on Monday, Sept. 15, for a shooting that left one person injured in Bertrand Township on Friday, June 6.

Mayfield has been sentenced to 12 to 59 years in prison for the first count and 10 to 59 years for the second count.

This sentence is then reduced by Mayfield's jail credit of 146 days.

Mayfield was originally charged with three counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, but that third charge has been dropped, alongside counts for Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felony Firearm, and Miscellaneous Weapons Offense. Share
