How much can change in a decade?
In my line of work, literally everything.
This week, I was reminded how quickly public opinion can change, and even more so over a decade. In 2015, support for marriage equality reached an all-time high, with a net 30-point lead, with only 29% of voters opposing same-sex marriage. What once was a divisive issue and a political weapon had become a non-issue with broad bipartisan support. Yet a decade later, we find ourselves with public support eroding. YouGov released numbers last week showing that only 54% of Americans believe same-sex marriage should be legal .
