AVIS, Pa. — The sound of shopping carts can be heard throughout The New Love Center Food Pantry near Avis, it's the organization's first food distribution for November. Workers here say it is even busier than it was last month.

"We saw about a two and a half percent increase in the neighbors we serve in October we have seen almost four and a half, five percent increase," said Holly Beaver, The New Love Center Executive Director.

"Right now I'm having a lot of problems financially, and that's why I choose to come to the food bank," said Judy Bennett, Jersey Shore.

Bennett has two grandchildren living with her, is diabetic, and in kidney failure.

"I come here because they have more healthier food than they have at the market, that's not expensive, that you can get for free," said Bennett
