Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams and City Treasurer Dan Miller were at polling place at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Harrisburg early on election day.
And with the low traffic in the early hours arriving, the tension between them was palpable as they spoke with the occasional voter or media outlet.
“It’s always slow in the morning, and it picks up in the afternoon and evening,” Williams said, noting that the Scottish Rite was “home - this is home base for me.”
Williams said she felt some of Harrisburg’s biggest issues included infrastructure and affordable housing, the latter being an issue on which she felt she’d made good progress.
“We have quite a few different complexes we’re going to put in over the next couple of months,” she said.
