LIV Golf has announced it will move from 54 holes to 72 for the 2026 season.
Starting in Riyadh next year, the Saudi-backed breakaway league will change to a more traditional format, staging events over four days instead of three.
This move brings LIV Golf in line with its main competitor - the PGA Tour - as well as all four major championships.
The league is yet to be awarded Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points, largely because of its format, and many will see this as a direct play to become eligible.
LIV golfers have plummeted down the world rankings in recent years and those without exemptions have missed out on majors as a result, making the switch less appealing to others.
It will also be viewed by some as an admission of defeat, given much of LIV's early disruption was
