More than a week after a plan was announced to build 50 tiny homes on the site of the present Dartmouth Dog Park in Penticton, opponents of the project still haven’t simmered down.

The purpose of the tiny homes is to serve as transitional housing for homeless people who are currently staying in local shelters.

A demonstration was held on Tuesday morning where the homes are planned to go.

“The residents and business community of Wiltse did not have enough time for consultation and we feel like there’s a lack of transparency,” said Debra Shields, who was one of a dozen protesters.

The protesters believe it will be a wet housing facility.

“It’s time to cut to the chase -- it’s time for a detox centre and a dry model,” Shields said. “We already have low barrier models -- the Burdock House
