The White Sox are hanging on to Luis Robert Jr . — for now, at least.
Chicago is picking up their $20 million option on the outfielder for 2026, according to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers .
Robert was at the center of a lot of trade speculation at this summer’s deadline, but no deal came together.
The 28-year-old was heavily linked to the Mets before the July 31 deadline, but according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post , the two sides “never got close” on a deal.
Robert didn’t end up having a stellar 2025 season, hitting .223/.297/.364 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI. But he added 33 stolen bases over 110 games.
Robert came up with the White Sox’s organization and was an All-Star selection in 2023.
