CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A 13-year-old was found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle after he drove off from police, Gov. Mike DeWine’s office announced in an update on violent crime in Cincinnati.

Around 7 p.m. Monday, Cincinnati officers tried to stop a 2017 Mazda 6 driving without headlights near downtown, the governor’s office explained.

The driver in the Mazda did not stop and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit was notified.

The aviation unit began tracking the runaway vehicle, but it crashed into another vehicle a short time later.

The driver in the Mazda continued going before stopping on Plum Street, Gov. DeWine’s office said.
