Auditor General Doug Wylie sought a two-year extension to his contract which is set to expire in April amid ongoing investigations, including into allegations of corruption within health care procurement

A committee of Alberta MLAs, led by its majority of United Conservative Party members, has voted to begin the search for a new auditor general over the wishes of the committee’s Opposition members and amid several high-profile ongoing investigations.

Auditor General Doug Wylie’s eight-year term is set to expire in April. He appeared before the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices on Monday.
